How Seruku ToolbarTM Works

Seruku ToolbarTM is actually two programs: the actual toolbar (which is a small plugin to Internet Explorer) and a background indexing program that runs on your computer.

When you visit a webpage, the toolbar waits for Internet Explorer to finish downloading the page, and then sends a snapshot of the page to the indexing program. The indexing program records the snapshot in a highly-indexed, proprietary database which is completely separate from Internet Explorer's cache. This separate database is what makes Seruku ToolbarTM so powerful-- by keeping full control over the data storage and indexing, Seruku ToolbarTM is able to easily do things that other toolbars can't.

It's important to note that the indexing program is running on your computer, and that the database is maintained on your computer.

At no point does Seruku ToolbarTM send information about your web browsing habits to other computers or over a network. And at no point is information about your web-surfing habits sent to Seruku.

The indexing program is also careful to safeguard the database. Client programs running on other machines can't access the database or find out information about the pages you've gone to.

When you search for a page using Seruku ToolbarTM, the toolbar forwards the request to the indexing program, which builds a list of "hits" using the database. You can then either fetch the recorded page from the database or re-request the original page from the web.
