Seruku Privacy Policy

The Seruku Privacy Policy discloses our privacy practices and contains detailed information about what we do, and why.  All Products and Services on the Seruku Website are made available subject to this Privacy Policy. By using our Products and Services, you agree, without limitation or qualification, to be bound by this Privacy Policy. Please read this, or simply trust that we're telling the truth when we say: We don’t want to know what you’re doing (or why). We just want you to use our software .

Please note that the Seruku Website contains links to other sites. Web sites that are linked to by the Seruku Website may have privacy policies which differ from that of the Seruku Website, and are not bound by this policy.

What information about you does the Seruku Website collect?

Information collected online comes in two forms: anonymous and personally identifiable.

Anonymous information refers to data that cannot be tied back to a specific individual. Seruku collects anonymous information whenever anyone visits the Seruku Website. This information is used to track browser and operating system usage, and to help ascertain which of our products are interesting to the general public. To do this,  Seruku collects the visitor's IP address, referrer information, and browser and operating system. This information is sent automatically by your web browser each and every time you request a page from any website on the internet; we are not gathering additional information (but simply recording information which you already send).

Personally identifiable information refers to data that tells us specifically who you are, such as your name and postal address, which may be collected in addition to the anonymous data described above. Seruku collects personal information in the following ways from different parts of the Seruku Website:

  • Mailing List Registration.  Seruku provides a number of mailing lists which we use to contact people interested in our products. You must explicitly opt-in to these mailing lists. When you do so, we will gather personal information, such as your name and e-mail address. This information will be used to send you the information you requested and will not be deliberately shared with any third parties.

  • E-mail for Specific Questions. Seruku provides a number of contact forms which you can use to ask us questions, suggest product features, or just say hello. When you use the forms, you will have the option of providing personal information, such as your name and e-mail address, so that we can send you a reply. This information will only be used to send you the information you requested and will not be deliberately shared with any third parties.

  • Beta and Trial-Version Information. If you participate in a beta program, or download a trial version of a Seruku software product, we will ask you for personal information such as your name and e-mail address. We will use this information to send you follow-up e-mails concerning the software product. In particular, we will ask you questions about your experiences and encourage you to buy the product in question. This information will not be deliberately shared with any third parties.

  • Purchasing Information. If you purchase a Seruku software product, we will ask you for personal information such as your name and e-mail address. We will use this information to send you follow-up e-mails, to verify your identity before handling support requests, and to inform you about newer releases of the software product (and other Seruku software products). This information will not be deliberately shared with any third parties but might be shared with credit card processing companies, in order to complete the transaction.

Does Seruku use Cookies or Web Beacons?

Seruku strongly prefers that end users make conscious choices about the information they are sharing. This means that Seruku does not gather information about end users using potentially surreptitious means such as cookies or web beacons. In fact, aside from the information explicitly mentioned above, Seruku does not collect any information about end users.

If you want to learn more about either cookies or web beacons, we recommend the Webopedia

Does Seruku share the information that is collected?

In the case of purchases, we might share some information with a credit-card processing company. In addition, we might share information if compelled to by a legal authority, or if a law enforcement agency presents credible evidence that doing so will help to solve or prevent a crime. Past that, we will not knowingly share any of the information that is collected.

What kinds of security procedures are in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of personal information?

Seruku has security measures in place to attempt to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of your user data under our control. We use physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect any personally identifiable data stored on its computers. Only authorized employees have access to the information you provide us. Any particularly sensitive information, such as a credit card number involved in purchasing a Seruku software product, is encrypted prior to transmission.

While we cannot guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration to data will not occur, we take many precautions to prevent such unfortunate occurrences.
